Music Festival Targets Nuclear Concerns

Newfane, VT – A group of people who want Vermont Yankee to close in March are planning the Positively Charged Music Festival on a solar powered vegetable farm in Vermont this weekend. Organizer Dan DeWalt. While the festival on Saturday features bands from VT, NH and MA, DeWalt says there will also be discussions about nuclear power on the grounds and between music sets. The speakers will include people who have family in Japan. One of the participants is Chiho Kaneko. She currently lives in Hartland, Vermont. Her family lives north of Fukushima Dai-ichi. Chiho Kaneko says in aftermath of the Fukushima her family has new daily stresses. The Positively Charged Music Festival will be held on the Amazing Planet Farm in Newfane Vermont on Saturday.
