The head of the federal agency that oversees national parks and other public lands began his five-day visit with a meeting on conservation issues at Vermont's Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge on Monday afternoon.
Salazar is set to meet with officials in Rhode Island on Wednesday, Maine on Thursday and New Hampshire on Friday.
He'll be talking about issues ranging from offshore wind power development in Rhode Island to promoting the recreation-based economy in Maine and New Hampshire.
