Storms Knock Out Power for Thousands across Massachusetts

Boston, MA – Powerful storms moved through Massachusetts yesterday and knocked out power for thousands from the Berkshires to Boston.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency says about 37,000 customers lost power yesterday as a line of storms moved west to east though the state, but some households have been restored.

Local TV reports show a number of trees were knocked down due to strong winds and have struck power lines.

Tens of thousands lost power in the neighboring states of Connecticut, Rhode Island and Vermont.
