Albany, NY – The process to ensure the safety of industry plans to begin high volume horizontal hydraulic fracturing for natural gas, known as "fracking," in New York has stalled, with regulators indicating they will likely not have completed regulations for the process in time for next year's state budget debate.

On this edition of Vox Pop, we hear excerpts from a recent interview by WAMC'S Alan Chartock with New York Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens for his take on fracking. Then it's off to the phones for your take on the controversial process, and if you think it should be undertaken in the Empire State. WAMC's Ray Graf hosts.
