Springfield, MA – The city council in Springfield Massachusetts will meet Monday to organize for its new term. 12 of the 13 incumbent councilors were re-elected in November. During an informal caucus earlier this month, James Ferrera was chosen by his colleagues to be the City Council President in 2012. As he begins his sixth year on the city council, it will be the first time Ferrera will serve as president. WAMC"s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Ferrera.
