Tanglewood - John Davidson

Recently, on a quiet day at the Lenox Library – just down the road from Tanglewood – a big time star walked in and offered to do a fund-raiser. Surprised, but delighted, the Library signed him up and the event takes place next Friday night.

Star of stage, screen and television, John Davidson, will provide music and laughter as he sings a selection of American folk, country, and pop favorites at The Lenox Library on August 8th at 7PM.

Now a resident of Lenox, Davidson was the TV host of Hollywood Squares and That’s Incredible, and was a frequent guest host on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Most recently, he performed as The Wizard on the national tour of the Broadway phenomenon Wicked.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
