Jacob’s Pillow in Beckett, MA is celebrating its 82nd Festival this Summer. It is a National Historic Landmark, recipient of the National Medal of Arts, and home to America's longest running international dance festival.

We are joined this morning by the Pillow’s Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff and by choreographer John Heginbotham. His evening-length world premiere Chalk and Soot will be presented in the Doris Duke Theatre through August 3. John is also the recipient of the 2014 Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
