Hamilton College's The Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art's Dirctor Tracy Adler

Excitement in the art world as Hamilton College in Clinton NY, opened The Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art this month. Keith Wellin, a 1950 Hamilton grad, gave the college 10 million to start building a museum in honor of his parents.

The museum’s inaugural 6,200 square foot exhibit is called “Affinity Atlas,” which “reflects the teaching museum’s mission of object-based learning.” Works are grouped together so that the viewer will compare, contrast and ask questions.

Artists represented include: modernist painter Marsden Hartley, watercolorist Charles Burchfield and Brazilian artist Vik Muniz. There are also prints by Jasper Johns, a tapestry by Hew Locke and photography by Sara VanDerBeek.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
