CAR-T cancer treatment available in the Capital Region for the first time

A new kind of cancer treatment is now available in Albany.

Dr. James Gerson is an assistant professor in the Larner College of Medicine’s School of Medicine, the UVM Cancer Center's director of the CAR T-cell program and is one of the first physicians in the country to use CAR T-cell therapy in a clinical setting.
