Sports Report: Buffalo Bills' Game Postponed And Moved Due To Snow Storm

NFL:

The Raiders' 16-game losing streak is over after Derek Carr threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to James Jones with 1:42 remaining in a 24-20 triumph over Kansas City. The Raiders built a 14-point lead but needed a 17-play, 80-yard drive to secure their first win since beating Houston last Nov. 17.

On Sunday at 1, Detroit is in New England then later at 8:30 Dallas is in the Meadowlands to face the Giants. The New York Jets game at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo has been postponed for Monday night at 7 p.m in Detroit.

NHL:

The NHL has postponed the Sabres' home game against the New York Rangers tonight due to the severe lake-effect storm hitting the Buffalo region. The league made the announcement yesterday. A makeup date has not yet been determined.

Meanwhile on the ice, Minnesota edged Philadelphia 3-2, Ottawa skated past Nashville 3-2, Montreal beat St. Louis 4-1, Toronto bested Tampa Bay 5-2, Detroit edged Winnipeg 4-3, Dallas won against Arizona 3-1, Chicago edged Calgary 4-3, Washington skated past Colorado 3-2, Anaheim edged Vancouver in a shootout 4-3, Los Angeles topped Carolina 3-2, and it was Florida over San Jose in a shootout 3-2.

NBA:

In the NBA, the Clippers beat Miami 110-93, and it was Sacramento 103-88.

NCAA:

In top 25 men’s college basketball, No. 17 Connecticut beat the College of Charleston 65-57, and California beat No. 23 Syracuse 73-59.

In women’s college basketball, UAlbany fell to Western Kentucky 63-54.

The Times Union Center was chosen today to host an NCAA women’s basketball tournament regional in conjunction with Siena and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The games will take place from March 23-26, 2018. The arena is already set to host a women’s regional for the first time this year.

MLB:

Rob Manfred has been given a five-year term as baseball commissioner when he succeeds Bud Selig in two months. Baseball owners voted the term at their first meeting since electing Manfred over Boston Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner on Aug. 14. Manfred, who has worked for Major League Baseball since 1998, will take over from the 80-year-old Selig on Jan. 25.
