49ers To Take On Seahawks While Broncos Face New England

We are down to the final four in the NFL.

Colin Kaepernick threw for a touchdown and ran for another while San Francisco scored the last 17 points in a 23-10 win at Carolina in the NFC division playoffs.  San Francisco will take on the Seahawks Sunday for the NFC crown. Seattle downed New Orleans 23-15 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Peyton Manning threw for 230 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns as the Denver Broncos downed San Diego 24-17 in the AFC divisional playoffs.

The Broncos will host the New England Patriots in the AFC title game next Sunday. New England had a 43-22 win over Indianapolis Saturday night.

In tennis, Venus Williams is done at the Australian Open.

Williams took her opening set before falling 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to 22nd seed Ekaterina Makarova. The seven-time Grand Slam winner was up 3-0 in the final set but lost in the opening round at Melbourne for the second time.

In baseball, Anthony Bosch, the founder of the Florida anti-aging clinic Biogenesis, said on CBS’ 60 Minutes that Alex Rodriguez paid him $12,000 per month to provide him banned substances.  This comes after Rodriguez’s 162 game suspension, which was handed down on Saturday.

Checking the NBA scoreboard, it was Memphis over Atlanta 108-101. Sacramento beat Cleveland 124-80 and Minnesota fell to San Antonio 104-86.

Finally in the NHL, Buffalo defeated Washington 2-1 in a shootout. The NY Islanders doubled up Dallas 4-2 picking up their seventh straight road win. Toronto topped New Jersey 3-2 in a shootout. It was the NY Rangers over Philadelphia 4-1. Chicago beat Edmonton 5-3. Minnesota blanked Nashville 4-0 and Anaheim shut out Detroit 1-0.
