Pats Dominate Ravens 41-7

In the NFL, the New England Patriots breezed past Baltimore 41-7 yesterday, ending the Ravens' four-game winning streak and diminishing the postseason hopes of the defending Super Bowl champions. New England took a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter and never let up behind a defense that forced four turnovers and had four sacks.

Elsewhere, Geno Smith threw two touchdown passes to David Nelson and ran for another score as the Jets topped Cleveland 24-13. Smith finished 20 of 36 for 214 yards and ran for 48 more without committing a turnover.

The Giants eliminated Detroit from the playoff hunt as Josh Brown drilled a 45-yard field goal on the third drive of overtime to give New York a 23-20 win over the Lions.

Buffalo added to its NFL leading sack total with seven more and shut down Miami's offense in 19-0 win.

Dallas took Washington 24-23.

It was Denver over Houston 37-13. Peyton Manning broke the single-season record for passing touchdowns. Manning threw for four touchdowns to give him 51 for the season, breaking Patriots Tom Brady's mark.

Indianapolis beat Kansas City 23-7. Cincinnati beat Minnesota 42-14. Carolina topped New Orleans 17-13. St. Louis defeated Tampa Bay 23-13. Tennessee won against Jacksonville 20-16. Arizona knocked off Seattle 17-10. San Diego beat Oakland 26-13. Green Bay fell to Pittsburgh 38-31 and it was Philadelphia crushed Chicago 54-11.

  
  

Checking news on the ice, a Bridgeport goal with 93 seconds remaining in the third period gave the Sound Tigers a 4-3 win over the Albany Devils in Bridgeport, Conn.

In the NHL, the NY Rangers beat Minnesota 4-1 and Winnipeg fell to Vancouver 2-1.

Moving over to the NBA, the Pacers defeated Boston 106-79. Paul George scored 24 points. Toronto topped Oklahoma City 104-98 and the Clippers edged Minnesota 120-116.

In college basketball, the College of Saint Rose men's team fell to Philadelphia, 81-78. UAlbany is in Des Moines, Iowa gearing up to play Drake tonight.

No. 10 UConn defeated Washington 82-70 and eleventh-ranked Wichita St. topped NC Central 77-66.

Finally, the Saint Rose women's basketball team held off Chestnut Hill, 54-47.
