Jets Upset Saint 26-20, Mutai Wins NYC Marathon Again

In the NFL, the Jets pulled an upset by stopping the Saints 26-20. The loss drops the Saints to 5-2 while the Jets are 5-4.

Elsewhere, the Pittsburgh Steelers gave up the most points in franchise history in suffering a 55-31 loss to New England. Tom Brady passed for 432 yards and four TDs for the 7-2 Pats. The 55 points were the most scored by an NFL team this season.

It was Kansas City over Buffalo 23-13. The Chiefs upped their record to 9-0. Dallas beat Minnesota 27-23. Washington edged San Diego 30-24 in overtime.  Tennessee passed St. Louis 28-21. Philadelphia trumped Oakland 49-20. Nick Foles tied an NFL record with seven touchdown passes. Seattle beat Tampa Bay 27-24 in overtime. Cleveland beat Baltimore 24-18 and Indianapolis defeated Houston 27-24. Houston coach Gary Kubiak collapsed leaving the field at halftime and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

In the NBA, Detroit slid past Boston 87-77. New York fell to Minnesota 109-100. Orlando beat Brooklyn 107-86. Miami beat Washington 103-93. Oklahoma City defeated Phoenix 103-96 and the Lakers held off Atlanta 105-103.

Checking news on the ice, Minnesota blanked New Jersey 4-0. Calgary edged ahead of Chicago 3-2 in overtime and Dallas bested Ottawa 4-3 in a shootout.

The New York City Marathon returned after a one-year absence with big crowds, heightened security and a familiar champion. Geoffrey Mutai successfully defended his title, while fellow Kenyan Priscah Jeptoo came from behind to win the women's race.
