Heat Top Thunder 104-98 in Game 4 of NBA Finals

Well Lebron James and the Miami Heat are one win away from an NBA title…

James poured in 26 points, dished out 12 assists, and pulled down nine boards, as the Heat rallied from 17 points down to beat the Thunder 104-98 to take a 3-1 series lead.  Russell Westbrook had a career playoff-high 43 points and Kevin Durant added 28 for the Thunder, who’ll try to become the first team in NBA Finals history to overcome 3-1 series deficit.  Game 5 is Thursday night in Miami.

To baseball… In the Bronx, Jason Heyward singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth, as Atlanta beat the Yankees 4-3, snapping the Yanks 10-game winning streak.

In Boston, David Ortiz connected on his 17th homer, as the Red Sox dumped Miami 7-5.  Boston’s won five of six.

In Queens, Johan Santana and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout, as the Mets blanked Baltimore 5-zip.

Elsewhere, Texas topped San Diego 7-3, Oakland blanked the Dodgers 3-zip, the Angels smacked down San Francisco 11-5, Seattle outlasted Arizona 12-9, Detroit doubled up St. Louis 6-3, Pittsburgh pounded Minnesota 7-2, Cleveland edged Cincinnati 3-2 in 10, Kansas City shut out Houston 2-nothing, Toronto rallied to beat Milwaukee 10-9, the Cubs beat the White Sox 2-1, Philadelphia got by Colorado 7-2, and Tampa Bay downed Washington 5-4.

Plenty of controversy in this contest… Rays reliever Joel Peralta was ejected in the eighth inning for having an excessive amount of pine tar on his glove. Peralta used to play for the Nationals. Rays manager Joe Maddon called the move "insider trading" and bush league.

At the Jerry Sandusky trial, Dottie Sandusky, the wife of Jerry Sandusky, testified that she remembers most of the men who told a jury that her husband sexually abused them, but she said he never had inappropriate contact with them as boys.  The jury also heard from a psychologist who testified that Sandusky has a personality disorder that might explain the "creepy" letters he sent to one of his accusers. The defense also offered more testimony touting Jerry Sandusky's reputation as a family man and community stalwart.  Sandusky is charged with 51 criminal counts related to 10 alleged victims over a 15-year span.

And in soccer, Wayne Rooney’s header in the 48th minute gave England a 1-nil win over Ukraine and a spot in the European Championship quarterfinals.  France backed its way into the quarterfinals, losing 2-nil to Sweden, but advancing thanks to England's win.
