Journalist Laura Blumenfeld is the author of the book, Revenge: A Story of Hope (Simon & Schuster). In 1986 her father was shot while visiting Israel. The bullet grazed his head. Ten years later, while a reporter for The Washington Post, Blumenfeld went in search of the shooter as a way to deal with her own feelings of revenge. She found his family who in turn led her to him. She developed a friendship with them, before they knew who she really was.

She was nominated for an Academy Award this year for best actress in the film You Can Count on Me. Shes currently starring in Further Tales of the City, the third installment of Armistead Maupins saga of San Francisco life in the 1980s. Linney also starred in the previous Tales of the City and More Tales of the City. Her other films include The House of Mirth and The Truman Show. Linney got her start in the theatre when she was 12 years old.

The Association for Library Service to Children voted unanimously to strike Wilder's name from a major children's lit award over concerns about how the author referred to Native Americans and blacks.

She is the author of the best-selling book, Seabiscuit: An American Legend, about the horse who became a racetrack sensation in the 1930s. Hillenbrand has chronic fatigue syndrome and during the writing of Seabiscuit, she almost never left her home. She has been writing about thoroughbred racing for 15 years.
