Vermont Hospital Reopens Operating Rooms After Odor Forced Closure

Officials will begin a phased-in reopening of operating rooms in a satellite campus of Vermont’s largest hospital.  They were closed because of an odor that made some people sick.
All five operating rooms at the University of Vermont Medical Center's Fanny Allen campus in Colchester were closed in early December while officials searched for the cause of the odor.

Air quality experts, state officials and an outside occupational health expert have all determined that the operating rooms are safe to use and will begin opening them next week. External experts were not able to determine the cause of the odor but they believe it was likely produced by an outside source.
