The University of Vermont's provost and senior vice president is stepping down.
David Rosowsky has worked as provost for six years. WCAX-TV reports that in a letter announcing his departure Rosowsky says his move will allow new university President Suresh Garimella to "build his own leadership team."

He says it has been a "privilege and an honor" to serve the university.

Garimella is currently Purdue University's executive vice president for research and partnerships.

He will take office July 1, succeeding current UVM President Thomas Sullivan, who is leaving later this year to finish a book.
