The Sanders Institute, a think tank founded by the Vermont Senator’s family, is suspending operations during Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.
In a press release, the Sanders Institute says its Board of Directors passed a resolution February 28th to suspend operations, cease donations and fulfill all current obligations during a transition period.  Co-Founder Jane Sanders, the wife of Senator Bernie Sanders, said that the Vermont-based institute plans to suspend all operations by the end of May.

The Institute says the steps are being taken to avoid confusion or any perception of an overlap with the campaign.  Although the Institute is suspending operations, its website content will remain available and its fellows will continue policy work.
