A New York state Senate candidate has taken a position at the State University of New York at New Paltz.

SUNY New Paltz announced the appointment of 30 new full-time faculty members ahead of the fall semester. One such appointment is Democratic State Senate candidate and Rhinebeck resident Terry Gipson. He is a lecturer in the Department of Communication in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Gipson recently served as adjunct professor in the Communications Department at Marist College in Poughkeepsie. Gipson is running to win back the 41st District seat he lost to Republican Sue Serino last election.
