As the coronavirus pandemic spreads, it’s bringing out the best – and worst – in people. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey says the scarcity of essential goods during the crisis has led to scammers and price gougers trying to exploit consumers. The Democrat spoke with WAMC Friday about how her office is working to combat those threats, and why she’s also taken on the issue of producing personal protective equipment for hospitals and medical professionals.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
