Man Accused Of Crashing Car Into House And Injuring Couple

A man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he crashed a car into a house while driving drunk, injuring a Vermont couple who were sitting in their living room.

Vermont State Police say the vehicle missed the couple, both 73, who were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

31-year-old Robert Viores was charged with multiple infractions including aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in serious injury; and resisting arrest.

Police say witnesses saw the vehicle speeding and crashing into the house. Viores fled on foot but the witnesses chased him and held him on the ground until police arrived.
