In New York, the City of Kingston has been awarded funding to aid in COVID-19 recovery.

Kingston Mayor Steve Noble says the city has received more than $440,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding to assist in COVID-19 recovery. The additional funding was made possible through the provisions of the third federal coronavirus relief bill — the CARES Act. Due to the emergency nature of the current situation, the city is not required to go through the traditional application process to allocate these funds and instead is asking for proposals for projects, programs or services that will help the low-to-moderate-income community recover quickly. The City is calling for letters of intent in lieu of applications. The letters are due May 1.
