John Waters To Visit Hudson, Northampton — But He's Not Hitchhiking

Writer, director, actor, and artist John Waters occupies a space all his own in American culture, from trash film classics like Hairspray, Pink Flamingos and Cry-Baby to his one-man stage shows to his many books, including his latest, Carsick: John Waters Hitchhikes Across America.

Last month, Waters was honored with a Film Society of Lincoln Center career retrospective celebrating his half-century of work.

This Saturday night, Waters will be at Basilica Hudson for a performance of his one-man show, This Filthy World: Volume 2, following a book signing that afternoon at Finch in Hudson. The performance is a benefit for the Aids Council of Northeastern New York.

And Waters returns to our region in December for a performance of his Christmas show, December 12 in Northampton at the Calvin Theatre.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013.
