A Vermont health center has announced it received a $125,000 donation, which is the largest private family donation in the organization's five-year history.
Brian and Janice Cunningham, of Bennington, and their family donated the funds to the Battenkill Valley Health Center in Arlington at the end of February.

The Bennington Banner reports Brian Cunningham is chairman of the center's Board of Directors.

Center co-Executive Director Kayla Davis says the size of the gift was a surprise. She says it's exciting to have money to "fall back on to continue to expand."
She says the center's funding is stable, and it received a Service Area Competition Award in January, which guarantees three years of base funding.

The center saw 2,883 patients in 2018, which generated 11,846 visits.
