A hockey team that calls Glens Falls home will keep its NHL affiliation agreement in the upcoming season.

The ECHL Adirondack Thunder will return for a third season at the Cool Insuring Arena in affiliation with the New Jersey Devils.

Previously, the Thunder operated in partnership with the Calgary Flames for the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

Prior to the Thunder’s arrival, Calgary operated the AHL Adirondack Flames for one season in 2014-15. Calgary purchased and relocated the ECHL Stockton Thunder from California to Glens Falls and renamed the team to the Adirondack Thunder.
