WAMC's Dr. Alan Chartock discusses reports that General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, feared former President Donald Trump and his followers would try to use the military to maintain power in 2020. Milley's statements are cited in a new book by Washington Post reporters, “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year.”Dr. Chartock also comments on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's meeting with New York City Mayoral Candidate Eric Adams Wednesday, and considers whether Adams is a "true" progressive.

Dr. Alan Chartock is professor emeritus at the University at Albany. He hosts the weekly Capitol Connection series, heard on public radio stations around New York. The program, for almost 12 years, highlighted interviews with Governor Mario Cuomo and now continues with conversations with state political leaders. Dr. Chartock also appears each week on The Media Project and The Roundtable and offers commentary on Morning Edition, weekdays at 7:40 a.m.
