Political newcomer Elise Stefanik has won the battle for the Republican Party's slot on the November ballot in New York's 21st Congressional district, a key step in the race to replace retiring Democrat Bill Owens in the massive district.
21st District Democratic congressional candidate Aaron Woolf joins Congressman Paul Tonko and other local leaders this afternoon on a business tour of Johnstown and Gloversville.
The two will meet small business owners to discuss job growth. During the tour, Tonko is expected to officially endorse Woolf for Congress. "He has a very earnest interest in how we can develop the policy that best promotes the growth of small business, which is the economic recovery engine of our area," said Tonko.
Democratic chairs in the 12-county 21st Congressional district have announced their endorsement of a candidate to run for the seat being vacated by retiring New York Congressman Bill Owens. They’ve selected an individual with no political background.
