The future of the Monticello Housing Authority is at risk after nearly the entire agency’s board and executive director abruptly resigned last week.

Hundreds of families in Sullivan County have gone over a year without child care assistance after funding dried up last July. Officials announced plans to reopen the program, but some are still turning to drastic measures to stay afloat.

The solar developer, RWE, has filed its application with New York state to build a 200-megawatt solar energy and 100-megawatt battery energy storage facility in Sullivan County.
