Plattsburgh City Police and the Office of Fire Prevention and Control are continuing their investigation into an early Sunday fire at a multi-story brick apartment building that killed two men and left a woman with serious injuries.
The two men killed were Geoffrey Brenno and Joseph Congelosi, both 34. Police say the men lived in separate units in the building.
Congelosi got his 26-year-old girlfriend Alyssa Upton out through a window but he could not get out. She is in stable condition at the Plattsburgh hospital.
Another tenant, 32-year-old Adam Fleury, was treated for smoke inhalation and released.
The Plattsburgh Press Republican reports that the fire was so intense it ignited and destroyed a vehicle parked by the building.
