Authorities say a body found in the eastern Adirondack woods is that of a man sought for shooting another man last week.
The Ticonderoga Police Department says a law enforcement search team found the body Monday afternoon in a wooded area in Ticonderoga, 85 miles northeast of Albany.
Officials say they believe it's the body of 45-year-old Jimmy Joe St. Andrews, who was suspected of wounding another 45-year-old man as he stood outside a Ticonderoga home last Friday night.
Police say St. Andrews apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The man who was shot late Friday night was in stable condition at an Albany hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
Authorities say St. Andrews fired a handgun at a group of people in what police say was a domestic dispute.
