The city of Pittsfield, Massachusetts has laid out its plans for this year’s trick-or-treating and Halloween festivities.

From 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 30th, costumed youngsters in the Berkshire County city can go door to door for candy, according to Pittsfield Director of Administrative Services Roberta McCulloch-Dews.

“We really want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time," she told WAMC. "I think the best advice is for people to implement the safety protocols that have kept them safe throughout this entire pandemic: continue to wash your hands, continue to social distance as much as possible, take those precautions that we know have served us well and I think we'll all have a great night.”

Pittsfield is also holding a virtual contest for best jack-o'-lantern, home decoration and costume. Submissions will be accepted through October 24th.
