A new outdoor arts park in Plattsburgh was dedicated to the region’s former long-time state senator on Saturday.

The Betty Little Arts Park is located between Margaret and Durkee streets. It renovates a wide and deteriorated alleyway linking the two key downtown thoroughfares. The new park features sculptures, a large splash pad, sloping walkways and green spaces.

Retired Republican state Senator Betty Little represented the region for 25 years in the Legislature. She was stunned by the size of the park. “This is so much more than what I anticipated.”

The Betty Little Arts Park was funded using part of the Downtown Revitalization Grant awarded by the state to the city in 2016.
