As WAMC first reported, the FBI arrested a Selkirk man for his role in the deadly January 6th riot on the U.S. Capitol. The agency’s Albany office did not release further details about the arrest of William Tryon but says it “will continue to coordinate with our colleagues at the FBI Washington Field Office and the United States Attorney's Office to bring to justice anyone who broke the law that day.”
Tryon was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
Tryon – who has been involved in pro-police rallies across the Capital Region – was seen in a YouTube video taken in Washington on January 6th. In the video, Tryon tells the interviewer that he was pepper-sprayed trying to enter the Capitol. Tryon was also photographed inside the capitol that day.
The FBI is encouraging anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
