EPA Extends Public Comment Period On Hudson River Review

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has extended the public comment period for its recently released five-year review of the Hudson River Superfund cleanup project.

The public comment period for EPA’s second five-year review of the project to remove toxic PCBs from the Hudson River was originally set to end June 30th.  The agency says a new deadline of September 1st was established “in response to requests from several parties.”

Critics like Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan have called for additional cleanup work along the river.

“We will be fighting it. We will be submitting formal comments. We’ll be rallying citizens and businesses, many of whom stand to lose if this five-year review stands,” he said.

Written comments should be sent to EPA no later than September 1, 2017. Comments can be sent by mail or email to:
