The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has released video of a helicopter pulling up one of the rescued hikers found near the summit of Algonquin Mountain in the Adirondack High Peaks on Tuesday.
The video shows an individual in an orange jacket being brought up on a cable from the snowy mountain.
Blake Alois, 20, and Madison Popolizio, 19, both of Niskayuna, NY, left the Adirondak Loj Trailhead on Sunday morning. Rescue crews faced harsh winds and snow. They were found alive Tuesday and were brought to a hospital and treated for hypothermia.
The pair survived two nights in the wilderness after falling from the trail.
Algonquin is the second-highest mountain in New York and is located in the Town of Keene in Essex County.
