Donald Trump recently announced his pick for Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt.

The Republican president-elect said Pruitt, who serves as Attorney General of Oklahoma, would be a “powerful advocate” against the federal agency’s “job-killing war on coal.”

Pruitt said he plans to run the agency “in a way that fosters both responsible protection of the environment and freedom for American businesses.”

Trump’s choice has drawn rebuke from environmental advocates and political opponents.

WAMC spoke with Peter Iwanowicz, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates of New York, about what the changes at the EPA could mean for issues at home.
