Hudson Falls Silent Movie Theater To Undergo Revitalization

What existed for decades as the Kingsbury town office building in the Washington County village of Hudson Falls was originally built as a silent movie theater in 1917.

A century after it was built, the Hudson River Music Hall is beginning work to transform the Strand Theater building from office space to performing arts space.

WAMC's Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard joined Hudson River Music Hall Executive Director Jonathan Newell for a tour.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
