Hudson Falls Teacher Publishes Book Of Veteran Interviews

wikipedia.org

A high school teacher from upstate New York has published a book on World War II from interviews veterans gave to his history class.

Matthew Rozell is a longtime history teacher at Hudson Falls High School. Nearly 20 years ago his students began interviewing local WWII veterans for a class project. Rozell has compiled more than two dozen of those interviews in a self-published book being released next month around the 70th anniversary of the end of the war.

The book is titled "The Things Our Fathers Saw: The Untold Stories of the World War II Generation From Hometown, USA, Voices of The Pacific Theater."

The "Hometown, USA" in the title refers to a 1943 Look magazine profile of the nearby city of Glens Falls as a typical, patriotic small town on the American home front.
