Governor Andrew Cuomo made the announcement Saturday that USA Luge will keep its headquarters in the Adirondack community. Cuomo said the decision by the organization yesterday will create jobs and "inspire the next generation of Olympians in New York State."

Empire State Development will invest $1 million in the marketing and promotion of USA Luge. $5 million in state funds will support the creation of a new ramp facility.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik says the decision to train in Lake Placid will benefit an area with "a very unique Olympic history."

Winter Olympic games were held in Lake Placid in 1932 and 1980.
