Police say a 7-month-old infant found dead at a central New York home died of a gunshot wound.
The Rome Police Department got a report around 4 p.m. Saturday that a child was injured at a home on West Dominick Street. When officers arrived, they found the child dead.
Police recovered a firearm believed to be related to the case.
No other details were immediately released. Police said additional details will be released Sunday morning.
Rome is about 45 miles east of Syracuse.
