Authorities say police officers searching for the wreckage of a small airplane that vanished in a New York reservoir have found human remains and items believed to be from the plane.

A New York City Department of Environmental Protection spokesman says the search has resumed Saturday in the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem, in Westchester County. Adam Bosch says the 1971 Beechcraft Bonanza was headed for Danbury, Connecticut, when it lost radar contact Thursday.

A Connecticut man has identified those aboard the missing plane as his father and stepmother. Eric Horsa tells The Journal News that Val and Taew Horsa, of South Salem, were on board.

Bosch says searchers are walking the perimeter of the reservoir, surveying by helicopter and using sonar.
