A new space under construction in Troy promises to be upstate New York's first incubator aimed at developing startups in the creative economy. Public affairs and marketing company Gramercy Communications is behind the Troy Innovation Garage, a 13,000-square foot site located downtown. At a ceremony Tuesday, officials kicked off the $1 million project. WAMC's Lucas Willard spoke with Gramercy CEO and founder Tom Nardacci, who says he expects the project to be completed by this time next year.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
