Authorities say a 66-year-old pilot has been hospitalized after a glider crash near the Saratoga County Airport.
It happened around 2:45 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
WNYT-TV says (http://bit.ly/1gBloYq ) the pilot, Ryszard Szymanowski of East Greenbush, was attempting to land when he crashed the glider in a field just east of the airport's runway.
Officials say Szymanowski was seriously injured and taken by police helicopter to a hospital.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration said the agency has launched an investigation.
