NYRA Settles With Ousted Food Truck

The New York Racing Association (NYRA) hopes to continue to operate the Saratoga, Belmont and Aqueduct tracks.

The New York Racing Association has reached a settlement with the owners of a food truck that was booted from an upstate track.

The Times Union of Albany reports (http://bit.ly/15sesaJ ) that NYRA agreed last week to pay the owners of the Wandering Dago nearly $70,000 to settle the lawsuit they filed in August 2013 against the racing organization and the state Office of General Services.

Andrea Loguidice and Brendan Snooks sued after their truck was bounced from Saratoga Race Course a day after the 2013 season opened. The ouster came after NYRA had given the owners approval to set up business at the track.

NYRA officials said they received complaints that the truck's name was offensive to Italian-Americans.

The owners said they chose the name to honor their Italian ancestors.
