Update: I-84's westbound lanes in NY reopen after crash

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley are open again after being shut down for about four hours by a crash.

The state Department of Transportation says the lanes reopened around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. State police say the highway's westbound side was shut down by a crash around 3:30 a.m. near Exit 6 in the Orange County town of Newburgh, 60 miles north of New York City.

Troopers say the crash occurred near the Newburgh-Montgomery town line. State police haven't released any other details, including the number of vehicles involved or if anyone was injured.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports that multiple vehicles were involved.

I-84 runs from Connecticut through southeastern New York to northeastern Pennsylvania.
