Albany, NY – An analysis by a school reform group says New York school districts risk losing $1.7 billion in total state and federal aid over two years if they don't agree to teacher and principal evaluations with their unions. WAMC's Dave Lucas has the breakdown...

The New York Campaign for Achievement Now, which has ties to the charter school movement, has prepared a report that shows New York City schools would lose $592 million in total aid over the next two years.

Buffalo would lose almost $51 million, Rochester would lose $48 million, Syracuse would lose $43 million, Yonkers would lose $16 million and Albany would lose over $4 million.

The group says besides $700 million in federal funding known to be at risk, smaller federal and state funds are threatened.
