Albany, NY – Well West Virginia put on a scoring show unlike any other in college football's postseason history...

Last night at the Orange Bowl in Miami, that touchdown reception, one of four by Tavon Austin, helped the Mountaineers rack up a bowl game record-breaking 70 points, in their 70-33 blowout win over Clemson. Sound courtesy of ESPN. West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith tied a bowl record with six touchdown passes, and his 401 passing yards broke Tom Brady's Orange Bowl record. The Mountaineers finished 10-3, while the Tigers wound up 10-4.

To Top 25 college hoops, Georgetown rallied to beat Marguette 73-70, Syracuse held off Providence 87-73, Temple stunned Duke 78-73, Kansas got past Kansas State 67-49, and Murray State beat Eastern Kentucky 76-67.

On the Women's side, Baylor blew out Missouri 90-46, U-Conn cruised past West Virginia 79-60, and Notre Dame dominated Seton Hall 74-36.

To the ice, Montreal routed Winnipeg 7-3, Boston crushed New Jersey 6-1, San Jose skated past Anaheim 3-1, and Vancouver blanked Minnesota 3-0.

To the NBA, Charlotte topped the Knicks 118-110, Miami blew out Indiana 118-83, the Clippers hammered Houston 117-89, Memphis edged Minnesota 90-86, San Antonio got past Golden State 101-95, Philadelphia downed New Orleans 101-93, Dallas dumped Phoenix 98-89, Denver pounded Sacramento 110-83, Chicago shut down Detroit 99-83, Orlando whipped Washington 103-85, Toronto trounced Cleveland 92-77, and Boston bounced New Jersey 89-70.

And in baseball news, sources say the Cubs have reached a deal to trade pitcher Carlos Zambrano to the Marlins for pitcher Chris Volstad. Reliever Fernando Rodney has agreed to a one year deal with the Rays. And Joe Torre has quit his job as MLB vice president, and is joining a group hoping to purchase the Dodgers franchise.
