Savannah, NY – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado with winds up to 120 mph tore through three rural central New York towns last weekend, causing extensive damage to several homes and destroying at least one barn. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...

No injuries were reported after the tornado touched down Sunday afternoon in the Wayne County town of Butler, roared into the adjacent town of Savannah and continued into Conquest in neighboring Cayuga County. Meteorologists say the tornado caused
damage along an 11-mile path.

The twister tore the roof off at least one home in Savannah and downed numerous trees and power lines.

No injuries were reported in any of the sparsely populated towns, located between Rochester and Syracuse.
