Down by five strokes with three holes to play, Bradley canned two straight birdies while Jason Dufner wrapped up his final round with three straight bogeys, forcing a three-hole playoff. Bradley beat Dufner by one stroke in the playoff, to claim the Wanamaker Trophy...

Keegan Bradley ends America's longest drought without a major at six. The 25-year-old PGA Tour rookie is the nephew of LPGA Hall of Famer Pat Bradley.

To baseball, where the Red Sox's lead in the AL East is down to one game over the Yankees...

Yesterday in Seattle, Casper Wells homered and scored twice, as the Mariners took the rubber game of the weekend series, 5-3, over Boston.

Elsewhere in the AL, Texas edged Oakland 7-6, the White Sox cruised past Kansas City 6-2, Baltimore bounced Detroit 8-5, Toronto topped the Angels 5-4, and the Indians-Twins, and Yankees-Rays contests were washed out by Mother Nature.

Over to the NL, in Arizona, Justin Upton homered and Paul Goldschmidt doubled twice, as the Diamondbacks edged the Mets 5-3.

In Atlanta, Braves second baseman Dan Uggla went hitless in three at-bats, snapping his 33-game hitting streak, and the Cubs nipped Atlanta 6-5.

Elsewhere, St. Louis got by Colorado 6-2, the Dodgers blanked Houston 7-zip, San Francisco downed Florida 5-2, Milwaukee held off Pittsburgh 2-1 in 10, San Diego dropped Cincinnati 7-3, and the Phillies-Nationals contest was rained out.

In NFL news, Osi Umenyiora is returning to the Giants without a new contract. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive end says he plans to practice today, and will play this season under the terms of his current contract.

In NASCAR, the Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International has been postponed until today. Steady rains yesterday force the postponement. The race is now scheduled to begin this morning at 10.

And in tennis, Novak Djokovic beat Mardy Fish, and Serena Williams beat Samantha Stosur in the championship matches at the Roger's Cup.
