Albany, NY – Well Burress is back in the Big Apple...

After serving 20 months in prison on a gun charge, Plaxico Burress is back in New York... just this time, he's with the Jets. The former Giants wide receiver agreed to a one year deal, worth $3 million.

ESPN is reporting this morning that the Jets have also reached a contract agreement with cornerback Antonio Cromartie, on a four year deal worth $32 million. The move comes after the Jets lost out on prized free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who signed with the Eagles.

In other NFL free agency news, Peyton Manning signed a new five year deal with Indianapolis, linebacker Nick Barnett has signed with Buffalo, and running back Willis McGahee has signed with Denver.

To baseball, in the Bronx, Brett Gardner's bases clearing triple highlighted a four-run fourth, as the Yankees doubled up the Orioles 4-2.

In Chicago, Dustin Pedroia ripped a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh, lifting the Red Sox over the White Sox 5-3.

Elsewhere in the AL, Detroit downed the Angels 3-2, Toronto topped Texas 7-3, Kansas City edged Cleveland 5-3, Oakland dropped Minnesota 7-3, and Tampa Bay rolled to an 8-1 win over Seattle.

Over to the NL, in D.C., Ian Desmond's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, lifted Washington over the Mets 3-2.

Elsewhere, Philadelphia nipped Pittsburgh 6-5, Florida dumped Atlanta 3-1, Cincinnati blanked San Francisco 9-0, Arizona doubled up the Dodgers 6-3, San Diego got by Colorado 8-3, Milwaukee held off Houston 5-4, and the Cubs beat St. Louis 6-3.

In other baseball news, the non-waiver trade deadline came and went, with a flurry of activity before the Market closed. Among the deals, the Braves added outfielder Michael Bourn, St. Louis acquired shortstop Rafael Furcal, the Red Sox added left-hander Eric Bedard, and the Indians traded for right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez.

And in NASCAR, rookie driver Paul Menard took the checkered flag at the Brickyard 400.
